Apr. '09- There are two on the horizon... both excellent and worthwhile causes. The first in May at Borealis Grille in Guelph (the new little sister to the Woolwich Arms Pub). "A Benefit for Baby Esme", whom recently was diagnosed with severe autisim. Please visit Baby Esme's blog, or the Facebook Event link for more info.

The Second called "Wallypalooza" and takes place at Fourfolds Farm, just outside of Guelph. The benefit is for the Trillium Waldorf Schools for children... hit the link for more info.

GO FESTIVAL AND MORE !!!!
Mar. `09- Mr. Gabriel will be playing at the GO FESTIVAL in Kitchener/Waterloo this April. Hit the Tour/Showtimes page for those details, as well as details about a Toronto show around the same time.

More to tell you about, on the rumour mill, buzz is Josh is headed to the East Coast again..... but he's also recording in Gueph?? Unsure at this point.... again.. only rumours, but this is the news I'm getting.

THREE NEW SONGS POSTED!!!!
Mar. '09- Holy smokes. Spring did come early!!!... He's usually out cold until mid May, but not this year it seems. There are three new songs up on the CBC RADIO 3 player!! (it's on yer left hand side).

"The Last Steam Engine", "To The Ground" & "All The Wrongs You Ever Did", are three recordings from a seven track solo demo session, mixed on a farm based studio in Breslau, Ontario courtesy Phil Clancy and Jake Janzen (production/engineering); sometime while Josh was passing through last August. This may be some indication that there is a new record in the works, as he is indeed now officially back in Guelph, Ontario.

SPRING IS JUST A SHORT WHILE AWAY!!!!
Feb. '09- There is some buzz.... and it's not the snorrin' of the bears in the cave where Josh has been hibernating!!

He's been spotted sportin' a longer bushy beard, next to a cute blonde girl, whizzin' down the highway headed east in a car with Quebec plates!! This may indicate an early spring!!

MERRY EVERYTHING FOLKS!!!!
Dec. '08- Note from Josh via snail mail "Well... the tour seems like a thing of distant past as the holidays approach and the winter days become vastly more apparent. Additionally, already not great fan of the dark months of the year, I've managed to find myself parked in Alberta; which aside from the sporatic Chinook, is a true test of a Canadian's will.

It is a miraculous and breathtaking thing to be driving on the icy unplowed roads or standing in the relentless prarie winds while deer look up from their sparse meals, sniff the air, and collectively pass you by..

For this miracle and each of the miracles throughout my tour this past year, I wish you all good health, intriguing wisdom, curious enthusiasm, As well, indeed... a happy and safe holiday season.

Aug. '08- No News....we're working on an updated blog for him to use in the future while he's travelling, but he says that it's difficult to get internet connections in the forrest on the East Coast. We assume he is in a forrest somewhere as his cell phone answering service would suggest...

ANOTHER TOUR ANNOUNCED !!!!
July '08- It's official folks, Josh will be back on tour again in 2008 beginning at the Riverfest Festival in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia on Saturday August 9th.

Continuing around Nova Scotia, back through New Brunswick and finally Quebec & Ontario, before embarking his first official West Coast Tour in late September and throughout October.

BACK TO THE HILLSIDE FESTIVAL FOR MORE PHOTOS !!!!
June '08- If you weren't already aware, when he's not on the road all over the country, Josh is the official photographer for Wellington's own "The Speakeasies". The Speaks will be playing at the Hillside Festival 2008 at Guelph Lake, in Guelph, On.

Josh has been the hired trigger man for Hillside before, including most recently the very first Hillside Inside @ The Sleeman Center back in February '08. This time around, just for the Speakeasies who are on stage Sunday evening just prior to the headliner. Picts to come soon!!

BACK ON THE ROAD!!!!
May '08- With the help of some new family and some great friends, Josh is officially back on the road. The borders to Newbrunswick have re-opened, the flood waters are receding, and Josh never actually went to prison. Making his first stop in Moncton, Newbrunswick, surely we will hear a tale or two from this already eventful tour.

JOSH GABRIEL TRIO ARRESTED IN QUEBEC???
May '08- Close, but not quite. According to Josh's stepmother the RV which she had Josh drive home to Canada a month earlier from California, USA. making an agreement that the truck would find it's way back to her home in B.C. after a month on the east coast as a tour wagon; had been reported stolen.... by whom you should ask?? Well by herself of course.

Mar. '08- Following the album release on Apr. 12th in Toronto, The Josh Gabriel Trio hits the road headed for the east coast. Beginning with a live to air radio show in Ottawa, The trio will play dates in Pembroke, Montreal & Quebec City before paying the toll and heading into Newbrunswick.

PEI!! For the first time ever Josh visits Prince Edward Island. Finally ready to conquer his admitted fear of heights, and hoping to be well at peace from a couple weeks on the shores of Nova Scotia, Josh heads across the Confederation bridge for a date in Charlottetown before heading back home to Ontario.

TOURING TRIO 2008!!!!
Feb. '08- Big news out of the Josh Gabriel house.... Friends Brandon Martin (guitar / vox) & Jessica Lewinski (percussion / vox) will join Josh to round out a trio ready to set forth on Josh's third East Coast tour in two years!! More news on dates and info. to come.....

Educated, skilled and well seasoned musicians Brandon & Jessica recently began a duo project under the name "Uhlan". Along with their own sets throughout the tour, their first self titled cd is now available and can be picked at the shows or via their website!!

Jan. '08- It's official folks, Josh will be back on tour in 2008 following the release of the new album. Even more exciting news is that he will not be travelling solo. More details on this developing story to follow soon.

Jan. '08- The official release date for Josh's new disc "Beyond The Stars" is April 12th, 2008. Exactly five years to the date that the first album "Sunday Night & Monday Morn." was released.

The CD launch party will take place in Josh's hometown of Toronto, Ontario at C'est What? 67 Front St. East. More details TBA.

Aug. '07- With the official release date for Josh's new disc "Beyond The Stars" not for a couple months yet, some Limited Edition Discs have been made available for the tour....... get them while you can!! Sorry to the folks back home, but you'll get the full ta-doo in the fall.

ANOTHER MINI EAST COAST TOUR:
On August 9th, 2007, Josh takes to the road for a mild week out to the East coast with good friend and fellow musician Tim Tibbitts. Stopping in Ottawa, Rothesay, Halifax & Bridgewater, Josh and Tim will also be joined on their journey by Musicians Josh Hendry of Once Past Silver, as well as Sarah Hallman. JOSH GETS A NOD FROM ECHO WEEKLY
Thanks to anyone and everyone who voted for the reader's choice awards this year. Josh recieved the runner's up nod as "Best local music photographer for his work with The Speakeasies.

NEW/OLD EP IN THE WORKS :
In 2004 recordings began for a full length disc including 14 tracks carried by Josh and his then backing band. After several 2 track EP's & nearly three years of meddling in the studio with producer Shane Scott over songs that are generally played solo, the body of the disc was cut down to six tracks & should be available some time late this spring.

After a lengthly battle with an entourage of computers, Josh Gabriel Photography is finally online!! The page will see some serious additions over the coming months with photos from all over this fine country of ours.

EAST COAST MINI-TOUR 2006 IN THE BOOKS :
Success folks!!! All the way to St. John's, N.L. and back to Guelph, ON. safely in two weeks flat. The sites accross the eastern part of the country are more and more spectacular with each passing year.

Many thanks to each and every one you who came out to visit along the way. Most nights were extremely busy (with a dud or two just to keep me honest), filled with new friends and some great re-encounters with old friends.

The most subtle and yet spectacular beauty came while on the way home, driving through Quebec during an eye watering sunset that was strangely over shadowed by the bright multi-coloured changing leaves, when a great travelling tune "Homeward Bound" by Paul Simon came on the radio.
